create (a life): block party
By freshlyplanted - 9:42 PM
Once upon a time, Isia and I were designing invitations, here, to get some neighbors together for some coffee and cake and planning. Because there had been whispers of a block party of a few summers now, but summer had passed much faster than our planning. We were not to be foiled again. There was going to be a block party. And then on Saturday, there was:
Our first band was Beat Debris...
...followed by Pick Up Park.
Did you notice the two bands? And all those music & community lovin' folk? (Over seventy in all!) There was also food on hand and lots of kiddos running around.
We sure do love our little people, and their ears too. Jess, lead singer of Beat Debris, brought a big box of ear plugs for all- especially the littles. I talked many a little friend into their ear plugs, so much so that Isia was still wearing hers a few hours after the bands had stopped for the evening (smile). Speaking of bands, a big thanks again to Beat Debris and Pick Up Park for rockin' the block! What great additions to our community, and amazing artists too!
