I'm so happy to finally share this finished vest with you! It was just received by good friends that visit this space often, so it's safe to post now. The vest knit up quicker than I was expecting (Ravelry notes here)- the tiny baby size helped I think (wink).
What I wasn't expecting to spend so much time on was the buttons. But it took three tries- sewn on & carefully clipped off- until I found buttons that I liked.
I added the yellow for a dash of color, in a gender-neutral kind of way. Yellow and grey go with just about anything, right?
And then it was finally finished & ready to mail off, with one of my favorite Rachel's Ink cards to accompany it. A perfect card for an eagerly-awaited little guy.
Speaking of little guys, I want to cast on a vest for mine next. I'm thinking about casting on a 3T size to accommodate for growth, and his Glorious belly. I'm learning that the rolls and roundness go away much too quickly, so I'm enjoying them while they last!
