I once organized a sculptural exhibit where we displayed all our drawings along with the sculptures. It was great fun to tack all those beautiful smudged, coffee-stained drawings next to the polished finished pieces. It was a study in process, as well as a snapshot into the shifts and detours we can encounter along our creative journey. I've always loved the art of the process, which is just one reason I'm smitten with Andy Goldsworthy. The way that he introduces his materials into nature, allowing nature to dictate the final outcome, is inspiring. Since we've been awash in rain lately, we decided to do a Goldsworthy-inspired artwork putting all of our plentiful rain to use.

I'd like to begin by saying thank you to all of you who are stopping by to visit! It has been so much fun to begin to connect with readers and other bloggers, and so motivating too. For example, this is a project I've had in my sewing bag since last fall waiting for that "someday" to happen. It gave me an extra boost to finish it, knowing that I could share it here. Thank you!

This sweet little dress used to be a Mama dress. It was one of my favorite comfy, wear-around-and-garden-in dresses. I realized why it was so comfortable when I was nine months pregnant with an almost nine pound boy and it still fit me (Ahem). I wore it for a little bit after his birth, then resigned it to my sewing bag. I began it  here, and then finally finished the straps over the weekend. If you look closely...

 When we bought this house less than a year ago, I knew the backyard would get a lot of use. It's large for our urban area, fenced in, and has a great little shed in the back for holding all the tricycles and balls and Flintstone cars that you start to collect when you have a backyard to put them in. I did not, however, foresee how useful it would be as a background for this:

Do you have that one recipe that eludes you? For years, I've been searching for the perfect granola recipe. During my search I always kept a few more granola recipes on hand to try, as well as attempted to dissect all the good granola we ever came across. But no longer, my friends. I've finally found the granola that has allowed me to throw out the rest of my recipes. And since I started making it two months ago, I've not cast even a casual eye in another granola recipe's direction. I'm smitten, and I think you will be too.

...because it's all about the important things, right? (wink) Finally it was time to unite Isia with the first present her Mama ever got her. And of course, paint! Because, again, it's all about the important things.
